Coworking in Prague

We wind-up the August serial devoted to the Czech coworking market with several tips for interesting coworking centres. And of course we invite you to TechoCon, where we will discuss all aspects of coworking in the Czech environment.

As we have previously written, there are in the Czech Republic almost one hundred coworking centres, and selecting from them is no easy task. We don’t want to appear biased so we have focussed on examples of different types of coworking centre, and the approaches that the given type will take in the future.

TECHO

The best place for us to start is at home… Yes, our TECHO showroom shows how we respond to the current trends in office working. We are continually improving it and under the supervision of architectural firm ADR it is regularly given a make-over. You can see the current arrangement on 13th September at TechoCon, when it will be open to guests.

Opero

The star among Prague coworking centres is Opero, located in Štenc House (Štencův dům) (1909-1911) designed by architect Otakar Novotný in the Art Nouveau style and right in the centre of town. Architectural firm MAAT was responsible for the interior design.

The excellent location in the centre is a great advantage and enables the building to be rented for commercial purposes. Opero also offers function facilities, a private café, secretarial services and many other interesting programmes in the form of an evening talk show or panel discussions.

Svět hub

This Vinohrady coworking centre offers a slightly alternative environment and hipster atmosphere. Architects from firm Edit! transformed the basement space into a function room where, for example, morning yoga takes place or Restaurant day.

International chain Impact

Impact Hub is an international chain of shared working centres that is today present on all continents. In the Czech Republic there are three Impact Hubs, in Prague, Brno and Ostrava. Impact Hub is an inspirational environment with fully furnished offices and a café.
